Countdown to Santa!

On Sunday afternoon we set up the Christmas tree. Last year we set it up in the basement because we were afraid the twins would pull it down. I didn't like it though because I never really got to enjoy the tree as I rarely make it down to the basement, so this year we thought we'd give it a try having it upstairs. We decided to only put a few decorations on it and yes they have slowly be put up higher and higher. We have made a few "twin friendly" decorations that are down low.

Happy Mother's Day

This blog usually is all about the twins. But in honor of Mother's day I would like to talk about my mom. She is the best mom anyone could possibly have. The twins love spending time with her and Opa. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well I believe that is true and Granny is one of our best villagers. Thank-you mom for being so awesome. I love you! xoxo Our beautiful two love you ! Granny and our beautiful twins!

Spring?

We are starting to think that spring will never come here! Although this week we did see some glimpses of it. There were lots and lots of puddles on our sidewalks and streets and the twins really enjoyed playing in the puddles. Yesterday I decided (perhaps foolishly) that it would be fun to walk home from daycare with the twins. So I drove home, got their Elmo harnesses, and walked the block and half to daycare and picked them up. It was quite an exhausting walk. Their poor little legs could barely make it home. When we got to the house they were very tired and very hungry so we sat on the front step of the house and had a snack. They then had a little play in the puddles. Hurry up Spring!

Twin Power - PJ Fun

It has been so fun to be at home with the twins for the Christmas holidays. The first week was very busy with Christmas activities and now in the second week we are having many p.j. days. I organized the playroom with all the new wonderful toys.

We have gone to having two of everything (much less fighting over toys) but this airplane toy we only have one of. The twins love, love, love this toy, but alas they are not very good at taking turns. Today they came up with a very unique solution to the problem of turns. It was hilarious to watch them go forward then back.

Christmas 2010

It was a whole week of Christmas at the Giles house. Aunite Jenn came to visit so we celebrated Christmas a little early with her on the 20th. Granny cooked an awesome Turkey Dinner. Then we got on with the presents! Granny, Piper and her new baby.

Who needs presents when you have a box to play in.

Piper likes this present thing! Opa is helping her get her new baby doll out of the package.

Tristan playing with Elmo.

Then Austin and Harmony came to stay, so we did it all again. This time with Christmas morning waffles and whipped cream... then onto the presents... again!

Oh, how I love tags!

Piper checking out the tree, but actally more interested in the tag from her new shirt.

Tristan loving the Christmas tree ornaments!

What a wonderful week of Christmas, but now we are back to us four. We spent a very quiet Christmas day in our p.j.'s...and now it is boxing day and it is shaping up to be another wonderful p.j. day. We feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family and we are all looking forward to 2011 and what it might bring. We wish all the best for all our family and friends and look forward to seeing you all in 2011.

Santa 2010

On Sunday we went to see Santa. We were a little worried about how the twins would react to Santa, but they actually did pretty well. Tristan actually looks like he is smiling and we are so happy that Piper is not freaking out! Last year we couldn't get them to both look the same direction, so I think we did much better this year.

Thought it would be fun to compare last years Santa photo to this years! My how they have grown and changed!

Another party for the twins!

Yummy cake!
Piper is happy to help Tristan out.

Piper loves cake! Tristan is still not sure if he likes it.

Our two beautiful one year olds.

18 candles on the cake for 18 one year olds.

Nine sets of twins and their parents.
Today we went to a party for 9 sets of twins. They were all part of our pre-natal class a year or so ago. Now all of them are crawling, some are walking, and some are really close to walking. It will be fun to see all the one years when they are two.
