Jumping & Jumping!

Today we tried out the new jolly jumper. We wanted to see if the twins would like it, so we can take it on our trip to Vancouver next week. We think they will miss the exersaucer and jumper, so we thought this might do it. As you can see by the photos it was quite a success. As always Piper is much more of a daredevil and Tristan is more cautious, but they both seemed to enjoy it. The only part they didn't like was getting in and out of the harness system.

Two in the tub

I am now bathing the twins together in the tub. It's a little tricky getting them in and out, but they both get to spend more time in the tub and they really like it. We have also added more toys in the tub, which is alot more fun for them. They like being in the tub together as with everything they like doing things together.

Piper loves the bath! What a smile!

Tristan loves his bath too!

Two in the tub is fun!

Everything has to be chewable!

Today was all about chewing, well actually pretty much everyday is about chewing when you are teething.

This is the second time today that Tristan pulled the toy basket over. At one point we literally had every toy out on the mat!

Piper says that if she can't find the perfect toy then she will use her thumb while Tristan works on chewing on Piper's big toe!

Tristan says Piper's toe tastes great!

Piper's sock is wet from Tristan chewing on it! It was funny because Piper didn't seem to mine her brother chewing her toe! LOL

Teething and weeding!

It was such a beautiful morning that after breakfast we decided to head out to the backyard and do some much needed weeding. The twins were very content to sit on a blanket and play/chew. Tristan is working on tooth number 4. You can actually see it just about to cut through.

Tristan loves to take his socks off. I think it's actually his favorite thing to do.
Piper is still working on tooth #3. We thought she had her third tooth, but it seems to have disappeared, so she still on the hunt for it!
I should take a photo of the garden. The weeding went well, and it is looking much better. I think I'll wait until more things are blooming and then I'll take a photo!

A bit of everything!

Doesn't everyone want to start the day out with a nice, wet smooch!

What a great smile with 3 teeth!

I took the twins shopping to Walmart this afternoon while daddy cut the lawn. Since Walmart doesn't have double shopping carts I had to be inventive. I put Piper in the carrier and Tristan in the cart. Sorry they are not great photos, but you get the idea. Piper loves being in the carrier; nice and close to mommy!

Off to the farmers market

This morning the twins were not on the same sleeping or eating schedule. It all started with Piper getting up at 6 a.m. , but Tristan slept until 7:30 a.m. Usually, they go back down for a short cat nap at 7:30 but not today. So we decided to head to the farmers market and hope for the best. Really we were hoping it would tire them out and they would go to sleep at the same time. Today was the first day of this seasons Farmer's Market, so even though it was a little chilly this morning off we went. The twins love being in the stroller, snug as little bugs. It was so great to be out and about at the market. Both twins fell asleep in the truck on the way home. Gotta love the motion of a vehicle! Unfortunately, Piper decided to sleep for only a short time, while Tristan slept. While he slept Piper got to play all by herself and have mommy and daddy all to herself.
Check out the wink!

A normal crazy Friday!

Today we finally went and got the snow tires taken off both our vehicles. Now to some that might sound like a simple task, but when you have twins nothing is quite as simple as it seems. In order to do this task we had to get up like usual with the twins at 6 am, feed them, play with them, put them down for a snooze. While they were snoozing Lee and I got dressed, I made up the bottles for the day while Lee took the stroller out of the back of my vehicle and put it into the back seat of his. Then he loaded the tires into the back of both vehicles. By 8:15 a.m. we loaded up the twins, and off to the tire shop. (Yes, they still have their PJ's on, seemed easier and warmer) Did I mention it was pouring with rain by now! Then at the tire shop we bundled the babies into the stroller and headed down the street to ABC Restaurant to have breakfast. I finally got to try out the new highchair covers I made. So much better not having them able to touch the highchairs that a million other babies have touched and chewed on. At the restaurant we fed the babies their breakfast and had yummy omelette's. I did think it was funny when the waitress came to our table to check how everything was and I hadn't even taken a bite yet as I was feeding the babies! It was also funny when the waitress asked us if we wanted the kids menu. She really was quite clueless! LOL Anyway, everything went really well in the restaurant and just when the babies were starting to lose it and we were starting to load up the babies they called and told us that the trucks were ready.

Later in the day I was off for a massage leaving daddy in charge of the twins. LOL Of course, he was using his new invention. The laundry basket play pen. Apparently it worked great up until Piper tipped over! No major injuries. Piper didn't even cry she was so shocked.

To share or not to share! (Keep your eye on the teapot!)

Tristan has it!

Piper has it!

Piper has it, but Tristan is about to grab it!

Tristan has it, but Piper still has her hands on it!

They both have their hands on it!

Tonight the twins decided that they didn't want to go to bed! So fine then, I say... play on. LOL
As my mom used to say, "As long as you are quiet and play nice you can stay up."
Earlier today the twins and I went to meet up with my friend Tara at Lazer Force. Her junior high band was playing at the college for a music festival and was getting to go to Lazer Tag for a bit of fun. Someone asked me if the twins communicated with each other. Well, I would have to say the photos say it all. They definitely are communicating that they will share... for now! I wonder what it will be like when they are two or three years old. Will they still be sharing the teapot?

Twins in the tub!

Tristan got his third tooth today. Well actually he's been working on it for several days. So much drool! It's his top tooth and the one right next to it is coming in as well. If you look really close in the second photo of his you can see the new tooth.

The twins love, love, love bath time. In fact, they start to get fussy right before bath time everyday. As soon as I start to run the tub they get all excited. I haven't been brave enough to try to bath them together on my own yet. They are still a little to unstable and I am nervous they will fall over. For now I try to have them take turns going first. It's not perfect because some days whoever is fussing the most gets to go first. As I am usually on my own at bath time, while one is in the bath, the other one is in the jumper or rocking chair pushed up to the bathroom door. That way I can see and talk to them both, and when the own not in the tub starts to fuss I know it's time to switch!

Shopping Cart Fun!

Today I finally finished sewing the double shopping cart cover. So, off to Superstore we went to test it out. It fit/worked great! No more touching and chewing on the nasty handles. The twins absolutely love being in the shopping cart together. They laugh and giggle and talk to each other. They love to touch each other and giggle. Although I did have a thought that when they are 2 this may not be so much fun. Well for now it sure is easier that lifting the carseats into the cart and having no room for food.

Today, Tristan decided he would like to hold the bottle all by himself! I think he liked it because he could take a break from drinking and use the nipple as a teething toy! I say go for it big boy!

A flip flop day!

Today was a very weird day. At times both babies were very happy and at other times they were both miserable. They are both still teething hard core and have stuffed up noses, so it's hard to breath. I am assuming that is why at times they were miserable. In between the miserable we played out in the backyard for the first time. It was so fun to watch them play and play with them out on the blanket. Unfortunately, when we came in for nap time they had both gone past it and were quite over tired. In fact, they never did have an afternoon nap!

Daddy's Invention LOL

Yesterday, started off with a trip to the walk-in clinic, after a sleepless night with Tristan. Only to be told 2 hours later that the twins have bad head colds, and that it is going around. The day was spent doing a lot of extra snuggling and Tristan spent a lot of it snoozing. Piper had much more energy than Tristan. Daddy thinks he's on to a totally great invention using the laundry basic as a playpen/amusement swing. The funny thing was that Piper actually seemed to like sitting in the laundry basket.

Swings!

So yesterday might be one of the last day for our fabulous swings. They are getting too big for them. Both Piper & Tristan put out their hands to stop themselves in the back and forth swing and Piper was leaning out of the cradle swing so much that I was afraid it was going to tip. Piper is our daredevil for sure. She truly has no fear.Tristan is much more cautious, but still loves to go high and fast on the swing. He loves to put his hands out and feel the air. It will be sad when the swings go. I can't tell you how many nights or rather 4 am's those swings helped get one or the other baby to go to sleep.
