Packing, new house, standing up

We took possession of our new home on Friday at noon, so we decided to have a picnic on our new deck. The first of many I would say! So much fun!
This is Tristan after his afternoon nap! Such a big boy!

Piper has been a huge help with the packing! LOL She even thought she would pack herself, well actually daddy thought he would pack her and she didn't really think it was such a great idea!

Tristan pulled himself up to standing!

Some shots of Piper on the move in the nursery. I love the look of determination on her face.

The twins are like little magnets to each other. They love to play very close to each other. Sometime this can end badly with one or the other twin getting poked, but today they had a great time pulling every toy out of the toy basket together.

Today was a big day for Tristan. All day he had been trying to pull himself up on various things. He finally succeeded after bathtime. Piper had fallen asleep early and Tristan was playing quietly by himself. I was on the computer at the table keeping an eye on him. He had crawled over to the banister and all of a sudden I looked up and he was standing up. I can't believe I actually thought to grab the camera, call Lee, and take a picture all without startling Tristan. He was very, very proud of himself as you can see by the big smile! He even let go and was only handing on with one hand!

And we're off!

Well the bums are up and the twins have pretty much figured out how to crawl. After bathtime tonight we thought it would be fun to have a race on the carpet in our room. The only problem was that Piper didn't want to go the same direction as the race. She was much more interested in what was behind the bed! Daddy kept restarting her but she insisted on going her own way! (Foreshadowing of the future!!!)

We have a new favorite! Blueberry pancakes! The photos say it all.

Tristan found a stray cheerio on the floor and with great determination climbed over the pillow to get it.

Got it! (Note that the twins have dumped out the toy basket and have all the toys on the floor!
Today we went for a picnic in the park and then to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Even though the weather was a bit chilly it didn't stop us from having eating a terrific feast prepared by granny. Birthday cake for Jessica was for dessert. Mmmm yummy cake Opa!

When we got to the zoo Piper and Tristan fell asleep!
Granny with the sleeping twins.
Snoozing Piper!

Snoozing Tristan!

But they did eventually wake up to see some of the animals. They really liked the pandas.

Happy Canada Day!

I'm one day late wishing everyone a Happy Canada Day. We were so busy yesterday, and the last couple of days, and very tired when we got home that I didn't have a chance to blog. On Wednesday, the twins and I went out to Three Hills to the year-end brunch with the teachers. The twins were ,of course, very well behaved and I used the new booster seats for the first time. They worked awesome. There does seem to be alot of eating going on in all the photos!

Yesterday, we all drove High River for a Giles Family Reunion. We only managed to stay for the luncheon and then the twins were getting so tired that we decided to head home. They got a little crazy in the back of the truck, so I once again got in the back with them. I think the photos say it all.

We were a little worried someone would get a flag in the eye.
